October 2016

A special prayer meeting was organized in Mandla area on October 3, 2016.  The team preached the gospel to the villagers who had gathered.  It was a great time of praise and worship.  Many in this new area are regularly touched by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A team from Hamilton Mill Christian Church, led by Brother Mark Crosslin, visited us at the mission from the 1st to the 9th of October.  The team, Mark Crosslin, Michael and Hannah Seaman and Ashley Strange, visited churches in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
A one day VBS was organized at the mission’s satellite center in Bilaspur.  We were blessed to have Mrs. Annette Wilterdink, Shining Light Program coordinator for the ministry in the U.S., with us during this time.  Shining Light Children from the state of Chhattisgarh participated in this program.  Special classes were organized for the children and leaders from the states of Georgia and Oklahoma led the classes.
The Hamilton Mill team also visited the ministry’s headquarters in Damoh from the 4th to the 7th of October.  They dedicated quite a bit of time to Neelam’s Kids.  The children were benefited greatly from the time they spent with them.  Brother Mark Crosslin shared the word of God with the senior citizens of Damoh Church and encouraged them.  Brother Mark also preached the gospel to the gathering at the Wednesday Night Program of the Damoh congregation on the 5th of October.  It was a blessing for all.

Every year the Mission’s school honors two teachers of our district for their contribution to the community in the field of education.  Mementos are given in the memory of Vivert’s grandfather, who was also a teacher.  The evangelistic team of the mission presented hymns focused on the love of Christ our Savior.

pic-9Dengue and Chikungunya viruses, which are transmitted by mosquitoes, have become widespread in our country.  Many people are being affected and a large number have died.   Vivert and Neelam decided to distribute mosquito nets to the children of Shining Light to protect them from mosquito bites.

We are thankful to our Lord that we were able to construct a new Church building at Lalmati, in the Kanchghar area in Jabalpur which is in the state of Madhya Pradesh.  The building was dedicated to the Lord on the 29th of October.  The dedication was very emotional and filled the hearts of everyone present with immense happiness.   This was the same congregation that was attacked by a mob of extremists during Resurrection Day Service a few years ago.  During the attack the ministry’s evangelist, along with many members of the congregation, including women and children, were badly beaten.  To build this Church we faced opposition from everywhere.  It took years to get everything cleared and finally build a small building.  It is a real blessing to see how the members remained strong in their faith during this period of persecution.  Vivert’s message on the day of dedication was from the book of Nehemiah and the challenges he faced to do the work for the Lord.
