The New Hope children got to go fishing. They enjoyed catching small fish with the help of mosquito net from two small ponds in the ACCTS campus where they live. All the children then got involved in cleaning the fish and with some additional fish from the market, they enjoyed fish curry in the evening. Neelam and Monica reminded the children about the life of the disciples of Jesus Christ. They were fishermen and caught fish to earn their living. They were uneducated, poor simple men who did not hold any high position but Jesus Christ chose them to serve the Lord. The children were taught that, in God’s sight, every single person is valuable and He can use anyone for His service.
The children at New Hope also participate in Saturday Bible Study. Bible study is organized by Neelam every Saturday at the ACCTS campus. This study has two parts and goes on for at least two hours. The first part is the devotion and second is classes. In order to make this interesting the teachers involved in the study prepare skits, action songs, puzzles, and quizzes. The purpose is to get the children involved in participation and the learning process so that they may get over stage fear and also learn to express themselves in a better way. This effort is having a very positive effect on the children.
